EAA Young Eagles Program at Meigs Field: June 10, 2000

On June 10, 2000, I first participated in the EAA Young Eagles program at Merrill C. Meigs Field in Chicago, IL. I was a volunteer pilot giving young people introductory airplane rides in N9801V. For all of the kids it was their first small airplane ride. It was one of the most satisfying experiences of my aviation life although the weather was not pleasant: warm and turbulent. I was able to complete only two flights before the storms arrived but I shared my morning with six wonderful young people.
